¿Qué es Getting Tough - The Race?
Getting Tough - The Race is a German extreme obstacle race brand that has run since 2011, organised by GETTINGTOUGH GmbH. It became known for its winter race in Rudolstadt, Thuringia, a 24 km course with around 900 m of climbing and obstacle parcours where failing an obstacle leads to disqualification.
The current event is Getting Tough 5Elements in Oberhof, Thuringia, held in late June in the Thuringian Forest winter-sports town. Adults choose a 9 km run or a 17 km run, or combine both as the 5Elements eXtreme ticket (9 km + 17 km); there is also a 'Legend of Speed' format. The YOKI AHORN Kidsrun offers 2 km and 5 km courses for children aged 6 to 16. The event is aimed at runners who want a demanding obstacle course with real elevation, while the 9 km option is the more accessible entry point.
¿Qué es XLETIX Challenge?
The XLETIX Challenge (presented by MaxiNutrition) is a team-focused obstacle race series organised by XLETIX GmbH, a Berlin company founded in 2013 by Jannis Bandorski and Matthias Ernst. Events take place at seven locations in Germany and Austria, including Berlin, Tirol Innsbruck, München Erding, NRW, Norddeutschland and, from 2027, the Nürburgring.
Participants choose one of three distances, 6 km, 12 km or 18 km, with up to 35 obstacles involving mud, water, walls and slides. The course is run in 6 km loops, so team members can pick different distances and anyone can stop after a completed loop. The focus is on getting through the course together rather than on finishing times. The series suits groups of friends, colleagues and first-time obstacle racers as well as fitter runners who want the longest distance. The same company also runs XLETIX Kids for children aged 5 to 15 and the women-only Muddy Angel Run.
