Strong Viking Wijchen 11 jun 2027

Strong Viking Wijchen is the series' flagship summer weekend, held on 11, 12 and 13 June 2027 at the Berendonck recreation area in Wijchen, near Nijmegen. Over three days the lakeside site becomes what the organisers call a battlefield of water, mud and adrenaline, with the full set of Viking-themed obstacles including the Flying Ragnar, Storm the Castle and the 14-metre-high Fjord Drop.

Strong Viking is presented as a challenge rather than a race, and the emphasis is on helping fellow participants over the obstacles. Distances run from the 4 km Beginning Challenge, aimed at first-timers with accessible obstacles, through 7 km, 13 km and 19 km courses to the 42 km Beast with more than 100 obstacles, and the 60 km Ultra Viking with over 135 obstacles for the most committed. A child-friendly Family Run gives kids their own course.

Spectators get in free from 8:30 in the morning, and parking fees may apply. The 4 km and 7 km distances suit beginners and groups of friends, while the 19 km and longer courses are for experienced obstacle runners. Entries are sold per distance on the official Strong Viking site.
