Qu’est-ce que Strong Viking ?

Strong Viking is an obstacle run series held in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, with Viking-themed courses featuring mud trenches, water and climbing obstacles such as the 14-metre Fjord Drop and Storm the Castle. The organisers present it as a challenge rather than a race, with a focus on helping fellow participants finish.

Distances range from a 4 km Family Run and a 4 km Beginning course for first-timers through the 7 km Lightning, 13 km Warrior and 19 km Beast to a 42 km course and the 60 km Ultra Viking. Event weekends listed for 2027 include Wijchen, Hofstade, Frankfurt and Ghent, with most offering several distances across two or three days. Strong Viking has won several obstakels.com awards, including best obstacle run of the Benelux. The shorter distances suit beginners and groups of friends, while the longer courses are aimed at experienced obstacle runners.

Qu’est-ce que TYRUN ?

TYRUN is a seasonal fitness race series in Belgium and the Netherlands, run by TYRUN B.V. Each season brings a new workout with new exercises, distances and standards, and races during the season count towards a leaderboard and a season final.

The Season 2 course is four laps, each a 600 m run followed by two stations, for 2.4 km of running and eight stations in total: Echo Bike, seated sled pull, weighted step-ups, med ball sit-ups, a 1,000 m row, devil's presses, a 1,000 m SkiErg and a sandbag carry over a yoke. Athletes race as singles or doubles in Scaled, Open or Pro divisions, which change only the loads and calories, or as four-person relay teams in Open. Most athletes finish in 60 to 90 minutes and there is no cut-off. Season 2 stops include Liège, Hasselt, Amsterdam (Vijfhuizen) and Antwerp, with the finals in Ghent.
