Strong Viking Wijchen 10 Apr 2027

The Strong Viking season opens on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 April 2027 at the Berendonck in Wijchen, near Nijmegen, the first mud run of the year on the Dutch calendar. It is the spring edition of the series' home event, and the organisers pitch it as the way to kick off the new Strong Viking season in full force.

One difference from the June weekend matters when choosing: during the spring event there are no water obstacles, so the Fjord Drop, The Iceman and The Flying Ragnar are not on the course. The mud, climbing and carrying obstacles remain, and refreshment stations are placed along the route. Distances are 4 km, 7 km, 13 km, 19 km and 42 km, with the 4 km Beginning Challenge built for beginners and the 42 km course packing in more than 100 obstacles. A Family Run with child-friendly obstacles is also offered.

Strong Viking is a challenge rather than a race, with the organisers encouraging participants to help each other finish. April conditions in the Netherlands can be cold and wet, so bring warm dry clothes for afterwards. Register per distance on the official Strong Viking site.

Strong Viking comes to Wijchen, Netherlands on Saturday, 10 April 2027 for an outdoor race. Strong Viking is an obstacle run series held in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, with Viking-themed courses featuring mud trenches, water and climbing obstacles such as the 14-metre Fjord Drop and Storm the Castle.

Registration is open.
