Strong Viking Amsterdam 25. Sept 2027

Strong Viking Amsterdam 2027 takes place on 25 and 26 September 2027, closing the Dutch obstacle-run season with a course packed with mud, water and the series' spectacular water obstacles, including the Flying Ragnar and the 14-metre-high Fjord Drop. The organisers encourage participants to come with friends, family or colleagues and cross the finish line together.

The format follows the Strong Viking pattern: pick a distance from 4 km, 7 km, 13 km, 19 km or 42 km, each a Viking-themed course through mud trenches, water and climbing obstacles. The 4 km Beginning Challenge is the first-timer option, the 42 km course has more than 100 obstacles, and Amsterdam also hosts the Ultra Viking, 60 km with more than 135 obstacles, described as a serious test of endurance. The Strong Viking Family Run gives children and parents their own fun course.

Strong Viking is not a race but a personal challenge, and helping others over the obstacles is part of the culture. The shorter courses suit beginners and groups; the 19 km and longer options are for experienced obstacle runners. Entries are per distance on the official Strong Viking site.
