Spartan Race Concord 3 Apr 2027

Porter Farms in Concord, about 15 minutes from the city, hosts the 2027 Charlotte Spartan Event Weekend on 3 and 4 April 2027. Spartan describes the venue as a relentless testing ground of mud and creek crossings without mountain climbs, so the challenge here is wet, uneven terrain rather than elevation.

The weekend offers the Sprint 5K (around 20 obstacles) and Super 10K (around 25 obstacles), a Kids race, and Spartan's Hurricane Heat endurance formats including a 12-hour version; Beast and Ultra entries also appear in the listing, so check what is open for the day you want. Spartan courses combine trail running with walls, carries, crawls, rope and rig obstacles and the spear throw, with a burpee penalty for failed obstacles in competitive heats.

Flat, muddy courses like Porter Farms are a good first Spartan because they do not punish weaker climbers, but deep mud and water hazards make shoe choice and grip important. Registering as a team is the only way to secure the same start time as friends, and team entries are discounted. Expect obstacle queues at busy times and arrive early for parking. Entries are sold through the official Spartan site.
