Spartan Race New Hampton 31 Oct 2026

The 2026 Tri-State New York Spartan Event Weekend takes place at Sunflower Valley Farm in New Hampton, New York, on 31 October and 1 November 2026, in the rolling hills about 90 minutes north-west of Manhattan. Spartan promises fall foliage, crisp mountain air and a fast, muddy course with rugged creek runs and the series' signature obstacles.

This edition offers the Sprint 5K with about 20 obstacles, the Super 10K with about 25, and a Kids race, alongside Spartan's Hurricane Heat endurance formats including a 12-hour version. The Beast and Ultra entries shown in the listing are Spartan's longer distances elsewhere, so check the day's schedule for what is open at New Hampton. The farm terrain is comparatively flat, and a previous racer notes it worked well for beginners for that reason.

Autumn in the Hudson Valley can be cold and wet, so pack a change of clothes and expect water crossings. Spartan assigns heats by start time, and racing as a team is the only way to be sure of starting with your friends, with a group discount. The Sprint is the natural entry point; the Super suits runners comfortable with 10 km on trails. Registration is on the official Spartan site.
