Spartan Race Hurricane 6 Mar 2027

Red sand dunes and desert trails set the stage for the 2027 Zion Spartan Trifecta Weekend at Sand Hollow State Park in Hurricane, Utah, on 6 and 7 March 2027. The park sits just outside Zion National Park, and Spartan trades the usual mud for heat and elevation: steep climbs, soft-sand sprints and wide-open desert speed against the backdrop of red rock and blue water.

A Trifecta Weekend means all three core distances are offered: the Sprint (about 5 km, 20 obstacles), the Super (10 km, 25 obstacles) and the Beast (21 km, 30 obstacles). Completing all three in one calendar year earns the Spartan Trifecta, and some athletes do it in a single weekend here. A Kids race and an Ultra are also listed, and Spartan's Hurricane Heat endurance formats appear on the schedule.

The desert course is exposed, so plan hydration and sun protection carefully, and wear trail shoes with good drainage for the sand. Team registration locks friends into the same start time and comes with savings. Zion suits racers who want a scenic, non-muddy course; first-timers should start with the Sprint, while the Beast is a long day in the heat. Register on the official Spartan site.
