About this race
Mud Masters Biddinghuizen 2027 takes place on 24 September 2027 at the Spijkweg event grounds in Biddinghuizen, Flevoland, one of the three weekends on the Mud Masters calendar alongside Haarlemmermeer and Airport Weeze in Germany. Mud Masters has been staged since 2012 by Mud Masters B.V. of Utrecht and reports around 60,000 finishers a year.
The course is inspired by real military training grounds and built around teamwork. Biddinghuizen lists four distances: 6 km with 13 or more obstacles and an average finish of about 1 hour 15 minutes, 12 km with 23 or more obstacles (about 2 hours 30), 16 km with 30 or more obstacles (about 3 hours 15) and the 42 km marathon option for the most experienced. Obstacles include walls, monkey bars, rope climbs, tyre flips, mud crawls and ice-water baths, and routes change every season.
Each weekend also has a Family Edition, and the day ends with a finish festival where, in the organisers' words, there is plenty of time for epic stories and a cold beer. The 6 km and 12 km distances suit first-timers and groups of friends or colleagues; the 16 km and 42 km courses are for well-prepared runners. Entries are sold per distance through the official Mud Masters registration page.
