Spartan Race Avondale 21 Nov 2026

The 2026 Phoenix Spartan Trifecta Weekend runs on 21 and 22 November 2026 at Phoenix Raceway in Avondale, west of the city. Spartan describes a mixed terrain of road and desert racing around the NASCAR track, with the November date avoiding the worst of the Arizona heat while still delivering dry, exposed conditions.

As a Trifecta Weekend, all three core distances are on offer: the Sprint 5K with about 20 obstacles, the Super 10K with 25 and the Beast 21K with 30. Finishing a Sprint, Super and Beast in one calendar year earns the Spartan Trifecta, and this weekend lets you do all three in two days. A Kids race is also listed, and Hurricane Heat endurance sessions appear on the schedule.

Desert racing means sun protection, hydration and trail shoes that cope with hard-packed dirt and rock rather than mud. Spartan assigns heats by start time; registering as a team is the only way to lock in the same start as your friends, and teams get a discount. The Sprint is pitched at first-timers, while the Beast is a long half-marathon-plus day with obstacles and demands real endurance. Book through the official Spartan site.
