Spartan Race Tampa 1 May 2027

The 2027 Raymond James Stadium Spartan Stadion 5K turns the home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers into what Spartan calls an indoor-outdoor functional fitness arena on 1 May 2027. Athletes charge up stadium ramps, fly down concourses, tackle Spartan obstacles in the shadow of the scoreboard and climb hundreds of stadium stairs in a 75,000-seat venue, passing the famous pirate ship along the way.

The Stadion format is built for speed and explosive power: a roughly 5 km course with Spartan's standard obstacles but no mud pits, which the organisers pitch as the ultimate stadium takeover for teams and fast runners. A Kids race is listed alongside, and the Spartan page also shows Sprint, Super, Beast and Ultra entries.

Raymond James Stadium is north of downtown Tampa with large car parks, and the May date means warm conditions even early in the day, so hydrate before your heat. Spartan allocates start times by heat and team registration is the only way to secure the same start as your friends. Stadion is one of the most beginner-friendly Spartan events, but the stair count means you should train some step work before race day. Register via the official Spartan site.
