The Hybrid Games Birmingham 3 Jul 2027

Birmingham hosts a Hybrid Games race on 3 July 2027, one of four cities on the 2027 season calendar alongside Liverpool, Newcastle and Glasgow. The format is a UK-designed indoor fitness race that puts running and functional strength work on the same floor, in a venue where spectators are never far from the action.

Athletes complete ten rounds of a 600 m run followed by a workout station, then finish with a 200 m sprint. The ten stations cover an air bike, wall balls, rowing, burpee broad jumps, dumbbell snatches, lunges, a farmers carry, a sled pull, a SkiErg and a sled push, with men's and women's weights. Judges stand on every station and chip timing records each split, but the organisers state there is no cut-off time, so finishing is about completing the work to standard rather than beating a clock.

You can enter solo or as a pair, and finishing positions within each age group earn points on the season leaderboard. The shorter 600 m runs make this a good option for athletes who are stronger in the gym than on the road, while runners will find the stations demanding. Register through the official Hybrid Games site and check the venue details there as they are confirmed.
