Tough Mudder Chicago 28 Aug 2027

Tough Mudder Chicago 2027 is held in late August 2027 at Richardson Adventure Farm in Spring Grove, Illinois, about an hour north-west of the city near the Wisconsin line. The 500-plus-acre farm is famous for the world's largest corn maze, and for Tough Mudder its cornfields, wooded trails, rolling pastures and muddy creek beds become a varied, unpredictable obstacle course.

Chicago offers the Tough Mudder 5K (12 or more obstacles), the 15K (20 or more obstacles) and Infinity, the endurance format in which racers get first access to the course, take on the 15K in fresh mud and then stack chip-timed 15K or 5K laps within the allotted time, with a 50-mile club for the most committed. Tough Mudder is built around teamwork rather than finishing times, and most participants enter as a team.

Parking and bag-drop fees can be prepaid at checkout, spectators can buy Mudder Village passes online, and volunteers receive a discounted entry and food. The 5K suits newcomers and groups, the 15K needs solid running fitness and upper-body strength, and Infinity is for experienced endurance athletes. Check the official Tough Mudder site for the confirmed race day and register there.
